These lovely white fluffy dogs from Bologna, Italy have endured a long history. They are of the family of Bichon breeds such as the Bichon Frise, the Maltese, Coton de Tulear, and the Lowchen.
The Bolognese are a very intelligent breed known to be creative and very engaging with their owners. The Bolognese are also known to constantly desire the company of their family, and as such do not fare well when left at home all day. Their hair is wavy and typically stands away from the body, their structure is more of a "cube" shape---typically as tall as they are long. They weigh in between 5 - 9 lbs. Their hair comes in an all white color, at times with bits of champagne color; but overall they are a white haired dog. This beautiful sweet dog is great for families who love an intelligent dog that is loads of fun.
